Bufo Alvarius
Brief, total, and profoundly quieting
What it is
5-MeO-DMT is a tryptamine found in the secretion of the Sonoran Desert toad (Incilius alvarius) and in several plants. Traditional and contemporary use in northern Mexico and the American Southwest is comparatively recent compared with iboga or ayahuasca.
Out of concern for the animal and for consistency of dose, many practitioners now use synthesised 5-MeO-DMT. [PLACEHOLDER — client to confirm sourcing policy.]
What a session involves
The session itself lasts roughly fifteen to thirty minutes from onset to return. The peak arrives within seconds and is typically without imagery or narrative — people describe it as being dissolved into openness rather than shown anything.
A facilitator supports the body throughout; vitals are monitored before and after. What follows is usually a long stretch of stillness, and often tears.
Why it is used here
For many guests, the value is in what comes after: a period of unusual mental quiet in which grief, shame, and long-held resistance become easier to speak about. Sessions are scheduled during integration days, never as an entry point.

In our protocol
Where it fits
Bufo is offered selectively at HHH, typically after ibogaine treatment and detox, during the integration phase. It is never the first medicine and is never offered without a physician's sign-off on the same screening used for the rest of the protocol.
