Ayahuasca
The long night, held carefully
What is Ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca, often referred to as “The Vine of the Soul,” is a potent psychoactive brew that has captured the fascination of both spiritual seekers and scientific researchers all around the world. Derived from the combination of two Amazonian plants, Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis, Ayahuasca has been traditionally used for centuries by indigenous communities for spiritual, healing, and transformative purposes. With its incredible multifaceted nature, Ayahuasca has remarkable effects on consciousness, personal growth, and serious potential therapeutic breakthroughs.
At the heart of the allure of Ayahuasca lies its ability to open the doors of perception to different realms of consciousness. The brew contains the psychoactive compound DMT (dimethyltryptamine), which is known to induce powerful and vivid hallucinations. When ingested under the guidance of experienced shamans or facilitators, Ayahuasca leads participants on a journey into their subconscious, enabling them to explore the depths of their own minds and emotions.
Spiritual insights and self-discovery
Ayahuasca has been praised for its capacity to facilitate profound spiritual experiences and deep self-discovery. Many individuals who have partaken in ayahuasca ceremonies report encountering visions, insights, and encounters with otherworldly entities that challenge their perceptions of reality. These experiences often lead to a heightened sense of interconnectedness with the universe, fostering feelings of unity, love, and compassion.
Participants frequently gain insights into their life’s purpose, confront unresolved traumas, and obtain a greater understanding of their place in the cosmic tapestry. The medicine is also known as “The Mother of Shadows” — sometimes lifting the veil on your deepest, most painful struggles, helping you understand them from a different standpoint.
Healing and therapeutic potential
The therapeutic potential of Ayahuasca has garnered attention from researchers and practitioners alike. Studies have suggested that Ayahuasca-assisted therapy could hold promise in treating a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance abuse disorders. The introspective and cathartic experiences induced by ayahuasca may aid individuals in processing past traumas, fostering emotional healing, and promoting psychological growth. It is important to note that these therapeutic applications require careful guidance and integration to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
Cultural wisdom and ethical considerations
Central to the reverence surrounding ayahuasca is its deep cultural and indigenous heritage. Indigenous communities have used Ayahuasca for generations as a tool for spiritual guidance and communal bonding. In the wake of its global popularity, concerns have arisen regarding cultural appropriation and ethical considerations. Respect for the traditions, knowledge, and practices of the native peoples who have safeguarded this ancient wisdom is imperative in order to preserve the integrity of Ayahuasca’s use.
Challenges and caution
While the potential benefits of Ayahuasca are undeniable, it is essential to approach its use with caution. The brew is not without risks, and individuals with certain medical conditions, such as heart issues or a history of psychiatric disorders, should exercise particular care. Proper preparation, a controlled setting, and the presence of trained guides are crucial to ensuring a safe and transformative experience.
A window into mind and spirit
Ayahuasca stands as a remarkable and enigmatic brew that offers a window into the realms of the mind and spirit. Its capacity to induce altered states of consciousness, facilitate self-discovery, and potentially aid in therapeutic contexts has garnered it widespread attention. As we continue to explore its multifaceted nature, it is crucial to approach its use with respect for its cultural origins, ethical considerations, and a commitment to safe and responsible practices.
What to expect
The Ayahuasca experience
Six days and five nights at our oceanfront residence, built around three ceremony sessions and the preparation that makes them safe.
Before you arrive
Strict diet and detoxification
An Ayahuasca experience requires an extremely strict diet protocol prior to treatment: a deep cleanse and detoxification from the chemical products in our daily foods and environment, and in most cases the complete removal of medical products that may adversely react with Ayahuasca. We provide an easy protocol and a list of restrictions to follow at home once you have contacted us. Following the guidelines matters for your safety and wellbeing — the percentage of possible risks is very low when done correctly, and easily avoided when instructions are followed.
During your stay
Six days, five nights, three ceremonies
The experience consists of a 6 day and 5 night stay in our luxurious oceanfront facility. You are provided with a strict diet in accordance with Ayahuasca’s restrictions, along with a schedule of activities to prepare for each session. The total treatment consists of three Ayahuasca ceremony sessions, through which guests work to overcome depressive neurological patterns and serotonin and endorphin instability, and to arrive at an overall awakening — perceiving life in a new and enlightened manner.
An important note
If medication or dependency is involved
In the case of using anti-depressive medication, or overcoming a chemical dependency that induces your mental and emotional illness, please continue to our Ibogaine treatment. We can then arrange a combined Ibogaine / Ayahuasca experience.
In our protocol
Where it fits
Ayahuasca is offered at HHH during integration, in small guided ceremony, for guests whose screening clears them and whose clinical picture points to trauma or depression rather than acute withdrawal.
